EDCentric – Privacy Policy

App: EDCentric: Energy Sharing Companion
Developer: TECHON.CZ
Last updated: August 24, 2026

✅ EDCentric does not itself collect, transmit, or store your personal data on our servers. All energy data processing happens entirely on your device. The App can optionally connect directly to the EDC portal (portal.edc-cr.cz) on your behalf to download your own energy data — this connection is strictly between your device and EDC. You may also work fully offline by opening local CSV files. The App displays ads via Google AdMob, which may collect limited device information as described in Section 6 below.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how EDCentric: Energy Sharing Companion ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use it on your Android device. We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App can either work fully offline from local CSV files, or connect directly to the EDC portal to download your own energy data. In either case we, the developer, operate no servers and collect nothing about you — all processing stays on your device or flows directly between your device and EDC.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

EDCentric itself does not collect, store on any server, or transmit:

The App's own code makes network requests only in two cases: (a) directly to the EDC portal when you choose to sign in and download your own energy data (see Section 4), and (b) via the Google AdMob SDK for displaying ads (see Section 6b). In neither case is your data sent to us or to any server we operate.

3. How the App Processes Your Data

EDCentric can obtain energy data in two ways, both under your control:

In both cases, all parsing, aggregation, and visualisation occurs exclusively in memory on your device. No file contents are sent to us or written to shared external storage. When you close the App the derived report data may be cached in the App's private internal storage solely to restore your last session — this data is never accessible to other apps or to us.

4. Connecting to the EDC Portal (Optional)

EDCentric offers an optional feature to download your energy data directly from the EDC portal (portal.edc-cr.cz) instead of importing CSV files manually. This feature works as follows:

This feature is entirely optional — you may use the App fully offline with local CSV files and never connect to the EDC portal at all.

5. Permissions Used

The App uses the following Android permissions:

6. Third-Party Libraries and Services

6a. MPAndroidChart (charting library)

The App uses the open-source MPAndroidChart library exclusively for rendering energy charts on your device. This library makes no network requests, collects no data, and has no analytics or telemetry of any kind.

6b. Google AdMob (advertising)

The App uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to display advertisements. AdMob is operated by Google LLC and may collect and process certain device and usage information to serve personalised or non-personalised ads, including:

Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the AdMob & AdSense policies. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via Android Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or by enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalisation".

The AdMob SDK requires internet access solely for fetching and displaying ads. No energy data, CSV content, EDC credentials, or any data you load into or download through the App is shared with Google or any other party.

7. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Because we collect no data, there is nothing to share with or disclose to any third party, government authority, or other entity. Data downloaded from the EDC portal is exchanged directly between your device and EDC and never passes through any server operated by the developer.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

All data processed by the App exists only on your device and only for as long as the App is installed. This includes any EDC access/refresh tokens, which are stored in encrypted App storage and can be removed by signing out. You can clear all App data at any time via Android Settings → Apps → EDCentric → Clear Data. Uninstalling the App removes all associated data from your device permanently.

9. Children's Privacy

EDCentric is not directed at children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect any information from children. Because no personal data is collected from any user, the App inherently does not collect data from children.

10. Security

Since no data is sent to servers operated by the developer, the risk surface is minimal. The App stores session data and any EDC tokens only in Android's private internal App storage (tokens encrypted with AES-256), which is sandboxed from other applications by the Android operating system. Communication with the EDC portal uses encrypted HTTPS connections.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
